The new self-baggage check in facilities at Vienna Airport are fast and easy to use. Passengers need only go to one of the new kiosks with their boarding card, enter the number of bags, print out the baggage tag and place it somewhere visible on the bag and put it on the conveyor belt. This service is designed to prevent queues and long waiting times in front of the check-in desks. Other major airports, such as Munich, are already using the service with great success.
In addition, passengers can use save further time and unnecessary waiting by using the self service check in kiosks to print their boarding passes, using their 6-character booking reference or a form of identification, such as a credit card or passport. Express check-in machines are now also available at the airport’s bus and train levels.
