For the first time, Alitalia has achieved a place in the ranks of the world’s top five most punctual airlines in the “Best On-Time Performance Awards 2011' compiled by
FlightStats.

 As part of its plan to expand its international schedule of business routes, Alitalia is to recommence its Rome-Beijing route this summer.

American magazine the Global Traveler, has conferred the award for ‘Best Airline Cuisine’ to Alitalia, for its in-flight service and catering in its Magnifica - Business Class.

The new Alitalia Winter 2010-2011 timetable, valid until 26 March 2011, is now operational.  The schedule includes 4,500 weekly flights on 137 routes between 79 destinations (7 more than last year), while capacity has also increased by 8%.

Alitalia is the only airline to offer direct links between Italy and Japan, and the winter timetable includes an increase in flights between the two countries. As part of the new schedule, weekly frequencies between Rome and Tokyo will rise from 9 to 10, while the number of flights between Milan Malpensa and Tokyo, will increase from 3 to 4. 

Air One, the Smart Carrier of the Alitalia Group, in its first winter season will fly from the Milan Malpensa base to 10 Italian domestic destinations and the Mediterranean Basin, with an offer of 200 weekly flights on 10 routes.
