With Spring in the air, Virgin Atlantic engineers have commenced sprucing up their fleet of jumbo jets.

It’s the ultimate spring clean, requiring 125 project staff from start to finish working over 95,000 hours to fit over 32,000 new parts – each one tested exhaustively and approved by aviation regulators. From April through to October this year the airline is embarking on decorating seven of its Gatwick Boeing 747 fleet at a cost of more than £50 million.

Virgin Atlantic has unveiled the first of its aircraft to feature its new Upper Class Suite.

Virgin Atlantic announces return to Mumbai

Virgin Atlantic is to launch a new daily service from London to Mumbai, which will also provide links to major US cities.

In response to growing demand, Virgin Atlantic has increased its frequencies to Ghana, one of Africa’s fastest growing economies.  An extra two flights a week have been added on the airline’s London Heathrow to Accra route, bringing the total to five flights a week.

Virgin Airlines take flight rewards global

Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin America and Virgin Australia are linking their frequent flyer programs to offer global benefits to Virgin flyers. 

The three airlines have agreed to a global partnership that, for the first time, allows each airline’s loyalty program members to redeem miles or points when taking flights on any of the sister-branded airlines across their respective route networks.

Virgin Atlantic has announced a recruitment drive for 500 new cabin crew as it expands its network and fleet over 2012.
